George Floyd was handcuffed and put into the back of the cruiser. He requested to be put in the front seat because of claustrophobia. He was then removed from the car, put in the prone position while in handcuffs and Chauvin put a knee on his neck for nine minutes. Chauvin at times lifted the other foot from the ground so more pressure was applied to the neck. While the arrested are under the control of the police, the police have a duty of care - they are responsible for the well-being of the perp. He died from asphyxiation, not from a heart attack. Chauvin may or may not have intended to kill Floyd, but he is responsible for Floyd's death. Remember how smug he looked while sitting on Floyd, thinking as a cop he was untouchable.

Did you see the trial?...he didn't die in the car...your hypothetical was not what the jury was asked to judge....the were presented what did happen...he was killed on the road under Chauvins knee.

The judge instructed everyone to not watch media on the case and only reference the evidence in the case. This was at the outset. They all took an oath to do that. They were sequestered as they deliberated to come to a verdict but not before.

There was video of him in his car. There was body cam video of a cop pointing his gun at Floyd and Floyd with his hands up scared asking what he did as he was getting out of the car. There was also video of him handcuffed sitting on the sidewalk against the wall complying with the cops. Fore going into the backseat where he said he was claustrophobic at which point things went south.

There was so much new video and evidence in the case vs the snippets in the media before the trial started. What was in the media before the trial was merely a very small percentage of the total evidence with videos from multiple angles, eye witnesses and expert witnesses, etc.

I don't understand the value of sequestering for the verdict. As for not watching anything to do with the trial, but being allowed access to media....um please explain how it was possible to avoid mention of this trial if you were online? As well, I've already seen media reports suggesting the Jury was aware of the civil settlement. That alone could be grounds for an appeal.

They pulled him out and put him in the prone position with his hands cuffed behind his back and Chauvin’s knees on him (one his back and one on his neck). That is when he said he can’t breathe. That is when the Pulmonologist dissected the video frame by frame showing everything Floyd tried to do to get air.

Placing the knee on the neck is (or was) an approved suppression tactic--until this incident police used it ALL the time. If Chauvin's total weight was on Floyd's neck, why no bruising or contusion? The cause of the asphyxiation is what was at issue. An overdose of drugs could precipitate the kind of asphyxiation that killed him. Plus, as I mentioned above, why did the Prosecution not want testimony from the fellow who was in the car with Floyd when he was arrested? If it's the truth we're after, these questions are fair game for discussion.

Again, I don't want to appear unfeeling, but the fact is that police deal with people who pretend to be subdued and then explode in violence all the time. I'm not an expert, but I believe they're trained to keep them subdued until it's safe to move them...whatever "safe" means. As I said in my first post on this thread, I don't know what the right legal outcome should have been. Clearly it seems to me that police training is sorely lacking if this can happen.
