Ok so I am now head on working on my website after my previous post about "undesirable" callers and I came upon a wall. Right now I offer one package to my clients and that is, buy 5 sessions up front and recieve the 6th session free. Now quite a few of my clients do this and find it very convenient. But does anyone have any other suggestions that seem to really work for them? Looking for quite a few to implement, so all the help I can get is welcome! I also offer the 10% to all referals deal too!

I give $10 off for every referral. They can use one, two or 7 for a FREE massage.
Also, on most every promotion I have mailed I have a time valued service in lieu of a $ off. ex:
Free 15 minute peppermint foot rub.

Maintenance plans. Offering a discount directly related to the frequency of visits.

Once a month - $5 off each appointment
2x a month or more - $10 off each appointment

It keeps me busy and my income steady.
The clients get great results because they are committing to a regular massage schedule.
The work is overall easier, since they don't have months to tighten back up. t023

I request a verbal commitment and I schedule them ahead each time. No pre-paying. If they miss an appointment they have to pay the regular rate till they are back on regular appointments. I have not had any problems with it only being a verbal commitment. I didn't like the idea I having them sign up for it, so I chose to do it this way.

Just wanted to let you know I implemented my own version of Masthera's maint. plan just a couple of months ago and I already have about 9-12 people on it. There are a couple of people who schedule but then have to reschedule or they end up not being able to really stick to it because they travel frequently, and so it's not really for them even though they want it to be. I am thinking of other types of "incentives" for regular bodywork for those types, but at least since they know up front that (for my plan) if their appointments fall outside of three weeks too often, then they will be paying regular price. And I don't feel guilty about it since it's all spelled out in my brochure.

For me I stop it at three weeks because I really feel my prices are VERY affordable for those once-a-monthers, and my premise for it all is to help people "budget in" regular massage therapy. So I don't want to offer too many ways to get a cheaper massage.....just ways to help people spend their money on health care instead of disease management.

Also I work at a salon where most all the stylists take off on Mondays, so Mondays are my "quiet" days...I thought of running a limited time special for people who book on a Monday. But this is for when I advertise in the paper again. I got that idea from a good marketing book called Marketing Massage: How To Build Your Dream Practice by Monica Roseberry.

I orginally got the idea from my former therapist, so I can't take all the credit for it.

It has been easy to customize for they way I want to use it. It is easy to implement. About 90% of my clients are on it.

I can't quite say if it has "boosted" sales, since I started it close to when I was starting to build up clients for my business (while I worked FT for the DC). But, it has offered a stability in income.
Even if you have clients that need to cancel during the month - you basically have an idea of who you can expect and when (not including your new clients).
I feel confident in my income from month to month because it doesn't really go up and down (because of inconsistancies in visits).
I haven't gotten the "slups" really at all since they are all committed to coming. The clients get on the routine and get used to budgeting it in.
New clients come in for their first visit and I will mention the maintenance plan to them - I am not pushy about it and if they are interested they join. If not I am still getting full price for my services.
I have some that come frequent enough for the MP (and are aware of it), but still choose to pay the full amount. Fine by me!

Everywhere I have worked - I have always had my "regulars", but for me this plan helps me feel more stable in what income will be coming in. Which is important to me. I want to grow my business with good, loyal, frequent clients and this plan is doing that for me. I love my clients!

I hope it works as well for you (and anyone else that uses it) as it has for me.
