I am sad that these people have lost their jobs and some of their futures are a challenge but I am not sorry about GM. I am concerned for the people not the products or GM. There is a big difference.

As am I, and let's not forget the industries that support the plant and shops and services that the workers personal use.

The initial 2009 bailout, should have gone to the workers to invest, retrain and retool.

Really that's just fake news. It's a perception that seems like years to shake. You can't compare Chrysler with GM. And VW is bottom of the barrel. I don't know where the got that idea. I've been driving nothing but GM vehicles, and I really can't complain. They've served me well.

But GM has nothing to do with refugees. You need to talk to your member of Parliament about that.

In business, if you cant a cheaper supplier.....you shut the doors down...if your domestic labour wants 30 bucks per hour and a boat load of benefits and cant find someone who will buy your product...change your biz model or say bye like the dinosaurs

GM has made the third biggest profit ever last year. And the year before that they made the highest profit ever. GM shutting down in Oshawa has nothing to do with money. They have all the money they can ask for, and then some. Mary Barra makes an average of $27 million a year.

You have only driven GM? That is your first problem. You have nothing to base your opinion on. It is all one sided. Too narrow a view point. I have owned or had company vehicles from Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, VW, BMW, Mercedes and even a Tesla. Chrysler and GM were the worst of the lot. I can compare any vehicle I want. I have compared similar cars, vans, trucks and SUVs. I will say it again Chrysler is the worst followed closely by GM especially after the warranty runs out.

Then you must not be maintaining your cars properly. I drove a million kilometers on 2 GM vehicles, and I still have one of them, and it's still going strong. I had one before those, which I traded up, because I wanted an upgrade. And there was nothing wrong with that one either. I never needed to drive other brands, because I never had to.

Of the cars you listed, Chrysler, Nissan, VW, Tesla, are all garbage. BMW, and Mercedes are both money pits after 6 years.
