Latvians and Russians are extremely racist but that did not stop me and my boys going to Riga. It is Eastern europe so what else do you expect? We went with our Lativan girlfriend,got an apartment,hooked up with regular girls and were treated well. The quality of women was high. If you like the (Latvian)blue eyes blond hair look then this is a good place to visit.

Alot of the Russian clubs would not allow us into their places. We received alot of attention mainly positive. But our Lativian friend was shocked at how racist her people were.

Riga is expensive and i would not go there to monger. If you look good,have game then it is a nice place to hook up with good looking women.

Yes, you're correct. I was an NCO. We work for a living! As far as Iraq goes, you can speak for yourself when you say, "guys like us are nothing special". Because I didnt die out there or lose a limb, that means I shoudnt be proud??..man, you're really something. If you go out there, complete the mission and everyone in your unit comes back unscathed, then thats outstanding!! If you cant see that then maybe you got some personal "Officer" issues. The VA has people that can help you with that. But good for you that you're still in. I chose to get out before the permanent brainwash set in...dont like the idea of becoming institutionalized. Fargos actually has experiance with blacks in Latvia so who do you think is more credible between you and him? But guess what, We have white Jamaicans, Chinese Jamaicans, Indian Jamaicans over there too..ever seen one of them? I bet not..lol.

Actually, I volunteered to stay in Iraq for three years by extension. It was MY choice. Having experienced soldiers stay on there is the only reason the surge worked. Leadership was needed in theater for young soldiers getting deployed there. I did my best.

I was deployed to AFGHANISTAN in 2001 during the first offensive in October 2001 - one month after 9/11. This was the start of "Operation Enduring Freedom". Maybe you should check the GWOT deployment records before you make such comments. You are obviously enlisted. I'm an officer and was there as a young Captain. My experience is 100% accurate and correct. I can assume you are no longer in the military? Hope Iraq was not too much for you. You talk about bullets, IEDs, and death. I saw plenty of it. But the only heroes in Iraq are the ones that did not come back. Guys like us are nothing special - we are just lucky. I am still serving my country CONUS. How about you?

Now, back to the main topics - I have never been to Jamaica so I can't comment about what others say about it. I have no desire to go there and never will.

Monger..I must have missed the part where deployments started in 2001. You cant be serious..where the hell were we in 2001??? 9/11 happened in 01' and them damn towel heads didnt see us over there until 03'. Think about what you type before you type it.. and furthermore, you dont get deployed for three years straight, EVER !!!! so i dont know where you're coming from with that story. Deployments can be 6 months, 9 months (which is usually marines), 1 year and 15 months, then you come home and your unit doesnt go back for at least a minimum of 7-9 month rotation. Go sell that story to someone that dont know, buddy... and more importantly, It doesnt matter how many times someone's been there. If you had to deal with IED's, mortars, bullets whizzing by you and seeing people blown up within 1 years time, thats enough war to last you a lifetime. But thats besides the point here. I fully intend on making a trip to Latvia to see for myself. The next time I'm in Europe, I'll take a flight in. You guys are really something. lol..and then redfang goes on and mention me running into skin-heads with bats..lol. Thats just as absurd as me telling him he's going to run into some hardcore, white man-hating rastafarians in my country of Jamaica and they may string him up. If you're dumb enough to go wandering around like a senseless idiot tourist in certain towns at certain hours of the day, you deserve to get whats coming to you..and thats in any place you go. Well, I just wanted to warn you, that it. Despite what Monger007 may tell, it's not actually about bad Russians. There are plenty of ethnical Latvians that could be aggressive towards you as well. And I doubt that your combat experience would help you if you (being alone and unarmed) would face five-six skinheads with baseball bats. If you want to get the picture of interracial relations here, imagine Texas... 60 years ago.

gomibako - Maybe I need to meet black people? Actually, as I am American - I live in USA and there are many black people here (45 million) . Have you seen the new president of USA? I have also been to Russia, Ukraine, and Latvia MANY times. Have you been to all of those places? I doubt it. I don't think there are many black people in Bulgaria.
I'm tired of your bullshit postings and ignorance. Your spelling errors also give me a headache. My Executive Officer would have a hard time with you. I'm not trying to down any black guy going anywhere to get tail. But I can tell them from a "boots on the ground" perspective the places that they would do extremely well compared to others. Black guys would do very well maybe in Poland - from what I hear. Other countries are Brazil, Japan, Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, and others. Eastern Europe is a much harder target environment - unless you are going for rentals.

If you are going for Eastern Europe Skyjuice - Poland might be a FAR BETTER and cheaper mission than Latvia. The factors for "mission creep" in Latvia are off the fucking charts. Just read the trip reports.

Also - Don't talk to me about war Skyjuice. Humma humma woof woof. I've been to both Iraq (3 times) and Afghanistan (2 times) (ALL IN COMBAT) and don't need to advertise it. Nevertheless, I thank you for your contribution to GWOT. I can tell you that the guys at USAREUR really talked up Latvia. I am sure it was a great place to go for ass during 1991-1999. But those days are long over. The British stag parties there ruined the images of foreigners for a long time.

What I am trying to tell you is that Latvia is not the place to go to monger. Its simply insane to compare an experience in Berlin to another place. I can assure you that Riga is not Berlin. Latvia is also painfully more expensive than Germany. The Lat is about equal to the UK pound. That makes the dollar worthless there - as there is almost a 2:1 ratio not in your favor. Germany women also like black men A LOT. Many women in Latvia do not. Most Russian women do not. Read the trip reports and you will see what I am talking about.

I recommend that you do go to Latvia to find out for yourself but all I am saying is that it is NOT a good place to go to meet women. Look what the poster from LATVIA said today "Most Latvians do not tolerate black people." This is not from me, but it is from one of the locals! Most Latvian women do not like ANY foreign men. They are in NATO and the EU now and they feel that they do not need interaction with foreigners for any reason.

Your one option may be to chat some of them up on MySpace or the Latvia equivalent and see if they are interested. If you make a connection BEFORE you go - then you should maybe be ok. But just going there and expecting to do well is a flawed strategy in Latvia. The AOR almost does not allow it.

Maybe you need to meet black and russian people, and you will know there are not that much of trouble.
Russian in Russia is one thing, the rest is 99% different. I lived in Ukraine, and saw many african and arabic doing well, because they knew the people, the culture and the language.
The difference between you and them: they live there around 5-10 years.

Hey mon', Fargos is wrong. Of course, you can go to Latvia and try to meet girls. But I am telling you now, Latvians are tired of ANY foreigners going there. White, black, yellow, whatever. The Russians there will also beat your ass if they even see you talking to their women. Maybe you need a history or geography lesson. I am living at the moment in London, but I caome from latvia, so i know a lot abouth girls in Riga.... and I could help u get nice girls for 25 lvl ( 50 $),the thing is - now it is a big crisis in Latvia, so thats why prices are going down, but only for a local costumers, becouse they think that foreneirs still has a lot of cash and they can pay a lot...... but if a local guy calls ( the main part of the clients are locals) they are asking for normal proce, so if anyone is intrested, to spend a good time in Riga, just ask me, I am going back to Riga next week.... and abouth strip clubs- really avoid them, dont eaven think abouth going in ther, only thing u get will be a huge bill take care
