Tipping at a KMP/AMP

While tipping is a personal thing and left to one's own discretion, I think the tips that some people give is insane. And to Tip on top of a tip for service, that is really crazy. The tip is for the service, not an extra bonus because they did the service. The house money is for the massage. The masseuse gets paid a salary out of that house money; probably not much. For that she gives a massage. The money a person pays for after that, the Tip, is for any extra service whether a small tip for a really good massage, no extras, or a bigger tip for extras. To add more money on top of that makes no sense.

I noticed this conversation and had to put in my opinion. I've been going to AMPs for 5 years now and I noticed that lately the prices have balooned but with the same Old (as in age) faces. Before, I used to pay 60 or 70 for one hour including table showers with my tip of 40 dollars. Now some are asking for 100 plus tip. Well, I don't know about you guys but I will NEVER pay that kind of money for a massage and release. For massage, I have Empire medical coverage to visit a massage parlor within the PPO network. For a release I can do it myself. But for that price I might as well at 20 or 40 dollars onto the 100 plus tip and go to a full service spot that will guarantee me a real beauty and a service to match. Why let these people get over on you. It is your money they are ofter and they will try to get more of it for less. I am certain that if everyone refused to pay 100 plus tips for massages these same places would provide the same level of service at lower prices.

My point is if you're going to pay 100 plus tip which equates to at least 140, you should just add 20 or 40 (160 or 180) and just go to an escort service where you know what you're getting.

clearly our objectives might be similar, I think the value may be different.

good for you. you are lucky that you continue to get good service without tipping. i just know from experience that the amp women remember the guys that tip them. it will net you a more friendly and enjoyable experience on your next visit. but there are things besides money that can net you better services also.

also, i just wanted to throw this out there: if you just want to be an average monger and get the same average service as everyone else, then pay and tip like the average monger. (i don't even know what that is... 0-20$?) if you want something beyond that, you're gonna have to do something beyond what the average monger would do. whether you try to accomplish that with $, personality, cleanliness, your looks or some sort of combination is a personal choice that no one has a right to judge.

the definition of gratuity includes the term 'voluntary,' indicating a choice. i am not one to tell anyone how to tip. i am just stating how i tip, and my reasons for doing so. there's no right or wrong way to do it. and it's your choice to do it or not do it.

we seem to have varying definitions of what a 'tip' is and what 'overpaying' is. imo, a predetermined tip defeats the whole purpose of the gratuity. also, the 50-100% 'gratuity' that you leave is more of an outrageous concept than me tipping and extra $20-40 onto a $160 service (12.5-25%). people like you that try to control how other people spend/value their own money are way out of line.

also, if you don't like the prices at a given amp, leave. if a girl haggles about prices, complain to mamasan or leave.

Please tell us where you usually go mongering so we can avoid those places and the expected enhanced tips. This bothers me a lot having experienced places that want $100 for a standard HE. If you just hang around the New York area, you will not find that but go some place where there are a majority of newbies or tourists and this is where over tipping goes. I know that in the FS places I go, the girls are very happy with $100. I have never had a complaint nor have I had a problem with service on subsequent visits.

Actually, one of the good points about Manhattan for the girls is that the customers tend to tip more than in other areas. You can bet that if the girls recognize you as a non-tipper you aren't going to get shit but you're lucky that others make up for your scrooginess.

imo, a few newbies/veterans don't wield the power to change the market price of a given service. kmps usually don't deviate from the standard very much if at all. they mostly maintain the pricing structure of 100/FS regardless of the state (at least ny, nj, pa, ct) and house fees vary.

also imo, there shouldn't be a 'max' tip. although i certainly have my limits on how much i will tip in certain situations, how can anyone tell someone else how much a good experience should be worth to him? who am i to judge the size of someone else's tip?

btw, when i go to a 160/FS amp (60-house, 100-girl), i don't see the 100 to the girl as a tip. that is my 'donation' for the FS i wanted. i know that in a legal sense these girls can not charge for some of the services they perform. but they do perform services that should be compensated for. the tip is separate. that is determined by how well they delivered the whole experience, relative to my past experiences. i look at it this way: it costs 160 to get a body rub w/FS. if i enjoyed the experience, i'll tip. not sure about the percentages but i'm certain this not a rare practice.

I agree in general about the concepts of tipping. Some bars comp me pretty well. I leave a 15% tip on the CC and then about 20% of what the tab should have been in cash. I hand it directly to my server. I always get repeat good service. That said, to me AMPS are different. There are places where because some newbie tipped $100 for service that should have been $40 max tip it becomes expected. This ruins things for the rest. At a standard AMP the normal tip is around 50% for standard service and depending on the structure, 100% for FS. I see no reason to tip beyond these levels. My standard is $25 to $30 at a standard $50 place no TS standard service. $30 to $40 at a $60 to $80 place with TS and typical service. At a place with a flexible menu I will tip up to $80 for extra service, depending on what they are. I draw the line at $200 for FS in an AMP. More than that and it better be a reasonably hot English speaking lady in an apartment with a bed and certain activities not covered.
